It's been a while since I last posted, I was waiting until after the results of my second exam (resit) with the hope of good news, alas, no good news here.

It's based on a curve and not a percentage system but I was basically 2% shy of the pass mark. I've decided I don't want to continue putting pressure on myself to pass the exam, my advice to anyone doing it from outside of Canada is to work as a medic here for at least 6 months before doing it. All the slight changes and weird system here doesn't make for an easy transition.

I've just got back from a week in Boston/NYC and I have to tell you, I am a city girl. There is just something about the city, the people and the culture, I just belong there. So now it's decision time. Do I stick it out in Alberta, enjoy a summer in the mountains and then change up my situation? Or do I up sticks and head to Toronto at the end of the month? If I choose the latter I'll work in a coffee shop/bar or something until the next hiring, I'll also downskill my licence from ACP to PCP. I know this isn't a forever move so I think this makes sense for me. I'll be back in London within 18 months.

So that's me for now, I'm working in a cardiac clinic in Calgary which is wonderfully close to my house. Life is ticking along. I'll make my decision within the week. Canada hasn't quite turned out the way I'd hoped but I'm so happy I came and gave it a go, it's been a ride.

When I know, you'll know.
